Chapter 3. Application layout

The design of ClearBoard follows the same layout conventions as most popular software packages. Many frequent computer users will be able to use ClearBoard without any further instruction. For the rest of us the following sections provide a full explanation of Clearboard.

As shown in the above screen-shot, ClearBoard consists of the following components:

  1. Menu bar: The menus bar contains all the operations you can perform with ClearBoard. It has the following menus: File, Edit, View and Help. Under the File menu, you can open, save, clean, print and scale an image. In addition, you can also open a new window, set the page printing options, preview the print image, process a batch of images or Exit Clearboard. The Edit menu provides you with Undo Clean, Preferences, and standard copy and paste operations.The items in the View menu provide various image zooming options. The Help menu provides access to this User Manual (Help Contents), the Getting Started chapter, the Tip of the day, the Clearboard product homepage, Clearboard support and About Clearboard

  2. Tool bar: Operations you likely to use frequently also appear on the tool bar.

    Clicking on a Toolbar icon will invoke its associated operation.

  3. Image area: This is the place where your image is displayed. You can adjust image viewing size by selecting zoom factors from the View menu. By default, the image is fitted to the width of the window.

  4. Status bar: This bar shows the current status of this ClearBoard window.

  5. Image info bar: This bar shows the size of the image in the window.

  6. Speed bar: This bar displays how much time ClearBoard has taken to clean an image in seconds.

  7. Board bar: This bar shows the type of board ClearBoard is processing. You can click it to change board type to Whiteboard, Blackboard or Greenboard.

  8. Result bar: This bar displays the background color of the cleaned image.
